Because of his love for the game of American Football and coaching, Mr. Donald “DJ” Jackson, Wilk-Amite Youth Action Network’s General Manager for Football Operations will expand his duties to become the Head Coach of the Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football C-Team, (5-8 YOA).

Coach Jackson is a certified with the Mississippi High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) as a football official and baseball umpire and understands the need to ensure that the fundamentals of the games are taught at an early age.

Coach Jackson has been involved in American Youth Football since 2012, when he coached the Amite County Ravens youth football team as part of the TNT Youth Football League, in Liberty, Mississippi.

In 2015, Coach Jackson formed the Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football program. At the end of the 2015 youth football season, TNT Youth Football League ceased operations and Coach Jackson worked to help establish the Wilk-Amite Youth Action Network to keep youth football going in the Wilkinson and Amite county area.

Coach Jackson worked with the Wilk-Amite Youth Action Network and others to secure grant funding for equipment to ensure that participating in youth football is affordable for all youth in the area.

To assist the Wilkinson County school district in its efforts to enhance academic achievement and conduct, Coach Jackson will adopt a classroom to help provide supplies needed for student and serve as the counselor for program participants who display conduct issues.

Coach Jackson is dedicated to the all-round development of our youth participants and will work with them, and encourage them to not just be better athletes, but to be better people.
