Why your child should be a part of the Marvin Earl Haynes Community League.

Our programs can be an effective tool in reducing youth crime and violence:

Our program activities are inclusive of all youth with the specific goal of reducing youth violence. Our programs are open to all, and does not restrict participation due to race, religion, gender or ability. If our children can play and work together when they are young, they will be less likely to kill each other as they grow older.

Our programs provide meaningful opportunities for females to participate and learn in a gender-safe environment where equality is taught and respected. We removed barriers for girls and women who want to participate in football by developing opportunities for all athletes to achieve their highest potential.

Our parents and teachers are included in the programs and connections are made from the program to school and home life. Participants in our programs must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and have no disciplinary or conduct issues in school, on the bus, at home or within our community.
Local leaders and members of our community are consulted and included in the organization. We are a “Grassroots” organization that work closely with the Wilkinson County School District and Town of Centreville, with the understanding that we must all work together, educate our citizens, and partner with business and government leaders to find solutions to problems in our community.

Our coaching staff are Heads Up certified through USA Football, a comprehensive program developed to advance player safety in the game of football. Our coaches place emphasis on gaining skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, self- discipline and positive social interaction.

Participating in organized sporting activities is expensive and not all of the families in our area can afford the cost. As a result, we strive to keep the costs low. While we understand times are tough economically for almost everyone, we truly feel that the intangible benefits our youth receive through participating in our programs cannot be tracked with a price tag. Therefore, our organization has adopted funding and spending strategies to sustain operations for an extended period of time. These strategies include vigorous fund-raising activities, grants, donors and a solid financial approach to managing these resources.
