As you are aware, Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football and Cheerleader serves as the “Feeder” program for the Wilkinson County high and middle school. As the result of this relationship, our youth program follows the guidance provided by the middle and high school programs.
In a statement on Friday, August 13, 2021, the Wilkinson County Department of Education indicated that due to the increasing countywide Covid-19 positivity rates and the increasing number of students placed on quarantine due to exposure, the District was taking certain steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among students, staff and faculty.
In compliance with the guidance provided by the Board of Education, we have made a decision to postpone all Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football and Cheerleader activity until In-person learning within the District returns on Monday, August 30, 2021. We made this decision with our youth athletes, families, and volunteers in mind.
As always, Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football and Cheerleader is dedicated to the physical and mental development and well-being of our youth athletes. We hope you all understand the reasoning behind our decision.
We plan to resume our Wilkinson County Wildcats Youth Football and Cheerleader activities as soon as it is safe to do so. Until then, please take care of yourself and your family.
